SAGITERRE’S COMPETENCIES
Sagiterre was incorporated in March 2001, with the Harel Frères Group as main partner.
The company’s major objective was to be the property development arm within the group of Harel Frères Ltd. It would specifically work on agricultural land conversion opportunities offered by Government under various schemes such as the Blue Print (closing down of sugar factories) and the Sugar Efficiency Act (1200 acres Scheme, 800 acres Scheme, 1& 2, the VRS-voluntary retirement scheme- and investment in the thermal power stations)
Sagiterre’s services include:
- Identifying sites that show development potential.
- Preparing detailed surveying plans.
- Preparing feasibility studies.
- Submission and follow-up of applications to various ministries and para-statal bodies to obtain permits for land conversion or reclassification, Environmental Impact Assessment reports and letters of intent, among others.
- Identifying contractors and liaise with them (engineers, quantity surveyors, builders, etc.) for preparation of the site to be developed.
- Follow up and assessment- together with the quantity surveyor- of tenders and contract allocation.
- Follow up of works along with the contractors.
- Obtaining land-division permits after works completion.
- Planning marketing campaigns.
- Ensuring elaboration of notarized deeds in the selling of plots.
- Preparation of regular works and sales progress reports.
Sagiterre also offers a “one- stop- shop” service to all the clients who buy a plot through bank financing.
Sagiterre has established solid contacts with various ministries through participation to many workshops organized by these bodies and has acquired excellent expertise in land-division projects.
Based on this experience, Sagiterre has been offering its services since 2002 to other sugar companies as well as individuals that wish to optimize their land. Sagiterre is part of a group of professionals that has been designated for the study and realization of two IRS (Integrated Resort Scheme) projects, namely the one planned by D.R.B.C. (Deep River Beau-Champ) in the east and the Compagnie Sucrière de Mon Choisy Ltée project in the north.
